A link has been added to the home page showing a Linden Homes development in Osterley Road. We point out that the three-storey development being built there would, in terms of height and massing, be much more appropriate than the four-storey blocks proposed along the Campion frontage.
We have outlined our views on the current application in a letter to the case officer for the Campion development.

A link to Guidance on Planning Performance Agreements has been added to our Links page. These agreements, if implemented, will enable local planning authorities to be more flexible about determination periods for large developments.

We have been counting rooms. This simple exercise has produced some very interesting results. There are different ways of counting rooms. Without going into the technical details here (but if you want to ...) we have found that the minimum possible room count is 662 which means that there are at least 3.94 rooms per unit. This mean that the indicative density for this site should be 35-65 dwellings per hectare and not 40-80 dph as claimed in the developer's Planning Statement! The 74 dph of the application is therefore outside the indicative range. If the inappropriateness of this density, in a sensitive location in an conservation area of low average density, was not clear before then it should be so now. We have added links to our analysis of this issue to the Homepage and to the Issues page under the Current Application menu.
We have added a new item to the Current Application menu: Our Analysis. This gives a page of links to a series of detailed analyses that we are making of major problems of the application.

A graphic illustration of what would happen to the open space has been added to the site. These images are similar to those in our open space statement but changes to the proposals mean that our initial estimates were somewhat too conservative. Detailed figures will be added when we have double-checked our calculations.
